So I know I'm a little late to the "Go Like Hell" party but I don't get a lot of free time to read. I'm currently on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean for a month, so I'm catching up. Switching between reading "Go Like Hell" and Oppo (sloooow internet so I can get a few pages in by the time Oppo loads) and I come across this sentence:
"He'd signed on as chief technician in the French champion Rene Dreyfus's expedition to Indianapolis. Dreyfus, an officer in the French army competed in a Maserati at the Indy 500 on May 30, 1940…"
That is my Mom's Uncle - Rene. He was the 1930 Gran Prix of Monaco winner, among others. He went back in 1980 for the 50th anniversary of that race and I have at home the ceremonial trophy they gave him to celebrate the victory. Can't post pics of it now, but if I remember when I get home I'll post some pics.
